DESCRIZIONE EVENTO
In the footsteps of the "Lioness of Romagna" amidst scents, colours and flavours of bygone times
We begin with a visit to the Fortress of Riolo Terme, which dates back to the 14th century and is linked to the events of Caterina Sforza, a leading historical figure. We discover the Museo del Paesaggio Dell'Appennino Faentino (Museum of the Faenza Apennines Landscape) and participate in the "herbs of Caterina" workshop. We reach Casola Valsenio where its famous Herb Garden covers an area of about 4 hectares dedicated to the cultivation and conservation of local medicinal plants. Followed by a cooking show and picnic in the park of Il Cardello, the ancient guest quarters of the nearby Benedictine Abbey of Casola Valsenio; a visit to the ancient Abbey will reveal its precious architecture and works. We reach Castel Bolognese with its historic Mulino Scodellino, an extraordinary testimony of brick mills built between the 14th and 15th centuries. The ancient architecture and the well-kept outdoor areas where a traditional country snack is offered are beautiful and welcoming.
